Welcome to The Fellowship of Integral Spirituality

The Fellowship of Integral Spirituality (FOIS) is a fellowship of ministers, spiritual communities, and practitioners committed to spiritually grounded living, personal formation, compassionate service, and respectful engagement across traditions.

We believe people can remain deeply rooted in their own faiths and spiritual lineages while still being shaped, challenged, and enriched through encounter with others. Our fellowship is built on the conviction that meaningful collaboration across traditions does not require the abandonment of conviction, identity, or practice.

FOIS exists for those who value spiritual depth, integrity, disciplined practice, and the ongoing work of becoming more fully human in relationship with others, the sacred, and the world around us.

As an interspiritual fellowship, we believe people should be able to hold onto their faith beliefs firmly while creating space for dialogue, friendship, shared practice, and mutual support among individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds. We are not united by doctrinal uniformity, but by a shared commitment to spiritual maturity, ethical living, compassionate presence, and practices that cultivate wholeness in everyday life.

Our fellowship includes ministers, chaplains, spiritual directors, pastoral counselors, contemplative communities, satsangs, churches, and spiritually grounded communities seeking a relational and integrative approach to spiritual life and service.

At the heart of FOIS is the belief that spiritual life must be lived — embodied through practice, relationships, service, reflection, and responsibility. We describe these as integral life practices because they invite the whole person into formation: body, mind, spirit, relationships, and vocation.

These practices include:

Rather than centering ourselves around theological conflict or institutional division, we seek to cultivate spaces where people can learn from one another while remaining faithful to their own traditions and callings.

FOIS is a fellowship for those who believe spiritual formation is not merely private, but communal — and that wisdom, compassion, and integrity can be strengthened through genuine encounter across difference.

Our Vision

The Fellowship of Integral Spirituality envisions a world in which people and communities from diverse spiritual traditions are able to live, serve, and grow together with integrity, wisdom, and mutual respect.

We believe spiritually grounded lives are formed not merely through belief, but through intentional practices that shape the whole person — including selfless service, devotion, wisdom, contemplation, physical discipline, and communal life. These integral life practices provide a common ground for personal growth, ethical living, compassionate service, and spiritual maturity across traditions.

Our vision is to cultivate a fellowship where individuals and communities are supported in deepening their own spiritual paths while remaining open to learning from the experiences and perspectives of others. We seek to foster relationships marked by humility, presence, responsibility, and care for the wider human community.

In a divided world, FOIS aspires to model a different way of engaging difference — not through hostility, erasure, or forced agreement, but through meaningful encounter, shared practice, and a commitment to the well-being of the whole person and the communities we serve.

Our Mission

We are committed to supporting forms of spiritual life that are rooted in disciplined practice, ethical responsibility, compassionate service, and ongoing personal formation. Rather than asking people to set aside their traditions or convictions, we seek to create spaces where meaningful collaboration and genuine relationship can develop across lines of difference. Our mission is to:

  • Support Spiritual Formation: Provide guidance, resources, mentorship, and community that support the ongoing spiritual and personal development of individuals and communities.

  • Encourage Integral Life Practices: Promote practices such as selfless service, contemplation, devotion, wisdom, physical discipline, and communal participation as pathways toward grounded and sustainable spiritual living.

  • Foster Respectful Engagement Across Traditions: Cultivate environments where people from different religious, spiritual, and philosophical backgrounds can learn from one another while remaining rooted in their own identities and practices.

  • Strengthen Communities and Relationships: Create opportunities for dialogue, fellowship, shared practice, and collaborative service that deepen relationships within and across communities.

  • Promote Compassionate Service: Encourage individuals and communities to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others through acts of care, justice, presence, and compassion.

  • Provide Integral Education and Formation: Offer educational opportunities, formation programs, and practical resources that help individuals integrate spiritual practice into everyday life and ministry.

  • Support Ministers and Spiritual Care Providers: Provide fellowship, endorsement, ordination, and spiritual support for ministers, chaplains, spiritual directors, pastoral counselors, and others engaged in service-oriented vocations.

Through this work, FOIS seeks to cultivate spiritually mature individuals and communities capable of engaging an increasingly diverse and interconnected world with wisdom, integrity, and compassion.
